The City of Fort Walton Beach GIS application allows users to look up information such as Zoning, Future Land Use, and Parcel ownership.

Using the Application

The application offers a simple way for users to look up information for an area or parcel. Use the "Layers" dialog to turn the layer you want to see "ON" by toggling the checkbox next to it's layer name. Then, using Map Based Navigation, zoom in to the area of interest. A "Mouse Click" or "Finger Tap" on the desired area will bring up a popup window that will display how many features it found. To see the information, click or tap on the circled-arrow on the right side of the popup.

Map Based Navigation

There are several ways to interact with the map:

1. Use the basemap switcher to select the basemap you'd like to interact with
2. Pinch-in to zoom out or Pinch-out to zoom in
3. Swipe up or Swipe down to pan in the desired direction.
4. Double-Tap on the map to zoom in

Locate Tool

Use the "Locate" button at the bottom to open the dialog. The "Locate" tool is a search box that can be used to locate an address in the City of Fort Walton Beach. Type in all or part of the desired address. Results will appear in a drop down, select the address from the list and the map will zoom in to the desired location.

Layers

Use the "Layers" button at the bottom to open the dialog. Click the box next to a layer name to turn it On/Off. If the box has a checkmark in it, the layer will be visible. Some layers that have been turned on may not show up on the map until you zoom in to a certain zoom level.

BaseMaps

Use the "Basemaps" button at the bottom to open the dialog. There are four different "basemaps" that can be displayed under the other layers. Select the one you would like to view by clicking on the thumbnail of it.
